Speaker Introduction (Guest Bio)
Mae Monette is a Christian mother who experienced every parent's worst nightmare when a tragic memory failure known as Forgotten Baby Syndrome resulted in the accidental death of her child. Through her faith in Christ, and a small but mighty circle of compassion-driven support, she found healing, purpose, and redemption, and now speaks on: hot-car death prevention, God's mercy for those affected by accidental tragedy, and the mission of Havenhouse- a ministry serving individuals carrying the trauma of causing an accidental death. Her story is one of immeasurable grace, miraculous restoration, and indomitable hope.
Our StoryFull Speaker Bio
Known publicly by a chosen pseudonym Mae Monette to protect her family's privacy, this Christian mother shares a powerful testimony of hope, redemption, and God's faithfulness following the unimaginable tragedy of accidentally losing her child in a hot car.
After experiencing what neuroscience describes as the cognitive failure commonly known as Forgotten Baby Syndrome, she faced overwhelming grief, public misunderstanding, and profound personal loss. Rather than allowing tragedy to define her life, she found healing through her faith in Jesus Christ, the truth of Scripture, and the support of a compassionate Christian community.
Today, she speaks to churches, organizations, and families about the realities of Forgotten Baby Syndrome, helping replace judgment with understanding while equipping parents and caregivers with practical prevention strategies that save lives. She also shares the often-overlooked Biblical principle of the "Cities of Refuge" (Numbers 35), offering hope to those carrying the burden of accidental tragedy and demonstrating God's heart for mercy, restoration, and healing.
As a speaker for Havenhouse, she advocates for individuals processing the trauma of causing an accidental death, reminding audiences that no one is beyond God's grace and that even the deepest suffering can be transformed into a ministry of compassion and life-saving awareness.
Her message is one of honesty, healing, and hope: that God can redeem even the darkest chapters of our lives for His glory and the good of others.
