According to The National Center for PTSD (operated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs) about 13 million Americans had PTSD in 2020.

While much attention has been devoted to veterans, adolescents, substance abuse recoverers, and domestic violence survivors, a significant portion of individuals living with PTSD come from overlooked demographic groups. These include (but are not limited to):

  • Everyday citizens experiencing moral injury and complex trauma after having caused an accidental fatality

  • Bereaved parents and family members grieving the loss of a child

  • First responders, medical professionals, and caregivers experiencing secondary trauma or compassion fatigue

  • Civilians who have survived accidents, natural disasters, or other traumatic life events

  • Faith-oriented individuals who seek a spiritually integrated healing environment but lack access to one within conventional behavioral health systems

Haven House is an emerging 501(c)(3) faith-based non-profit in the State of Colorado. It’s purpose is to provide digital resources and a community of support for those working through PTSD. Our primary focus is on the overlooked trauma survivor, particularly those dealing with a moral wound. However anyone dealing with PTSD of any kind may benefit from our resources. Though we are a Christian organization, our services are available to all individuals of any faith or worldview. We firmly believe that nobody should have to walk this road alone.

“God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], A very present and well-proved help in trouble.”

-Psalm 46:1 [AMP]

"…God has chosen to leave certain questions unanswered and certain problems without any solution in this life, in order that in our very struggle to answer and solve we may be shoved back, and back, and eternally back to the contemplation of Himself, and to complete trust in Who He is.”

— Elisabeth Elliot
